The Shoppes at Monroe is currently in the planning stages with construction predicted
to start as early as Spring 2010. Because of the lack of retail
in the area and the booming residential population, large national retailers are
keen to take advantage of this opportunity and are showing great interest in this
location. The open air market design of the Center, along with the lush landscaping,
is sure to appeal to the growing affluent communities surrounding this commercial
development, which will include: a supermarket, a bank, an upscale restaurant and
58,000 square feet of the best national, regional and independent retail stores,
totaling approximately 130,000 square feet on 20 acres. The site is located at the
southwest corner of the newly constructed intersection of Applegarth Road and Federal
Road. A traffic light will be installed shortly and there are residential projects
totaling approximately 3,000 new homes under construction within one mile of the
site. Many national housing giants such as Lennar Homes, Centex Homes, K. Hovnanian,
as well as Hallmark Homes and Renaissance Properties have all broken ground on substantial
housing subdivisions.
